Licensed Mental Health Therapist

Youth Services Program (YSP)

Currently hiring Part-Time and Full-Time non-exempt positions. The position provides comprehensive evidenced-based, diagnosis driven mental health therapeutic services to families and youth ages 0-25. MCYP Therapists are responsible for providing high-quality primary therapy and case management for MCYP assigned clients including collaboration with other assigned providers, accurate and timely maintenance of client’s records, service delivery/progress notes, adequate productivity levels, rotation on agency 24/7 crisis call line, other duties as assigned. Therapist positions are assigned to MCYP's main office locations in Ukiah/Covelo and may work at various community-based sites, such as school campuses, Juvenile Hall, MCYP Shelter Homes, and other sites within the greater Mendocino County community, as assigned.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Perform diagnostic biopsychosocial assessments for each assigned client, documenting medical necessity, updating annually or sooner if needed Ability to work autonomously with high level accountability & integrity

  • With each client and their caregiver, develop client-centered treatment plans inclusive of measurable treatment goals & objectives to address client's assessed mental health condition update every six months or sooner as needed

  • Provide individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, collateral, case management, rehabilitative, and other adjunctive services for clients, as indicated by their assessments and treatment plans; provide Intensive Care Coordination (ICC) as appropriate

  • Maintain accurate and timely client progress notes and other documentation consistent with professional and EPSDT/Medi-Cal standards of care and record keeping

  • Organize effectively; prioritize workload to ensure deadlines are met

  • Proactive communication both verbal and written with effective collaboration & teamwork

  • Maintain human services ethical standards, client and program compliance, confidentiality and HIPAA regulations

  • Ability to relate to people of all cultural backgrounds and ages Complete some client referral and intake paperwork, including valid and informed treatment consents and HIPAA-compliant releases of information, accurately and in a timely manner

Minimum Requirements: MA in Counseling or related field, CA BBS licensure as an MFT, LCSW, LPCC or Clinical Psychologist, or CA BBS registration as an AMFT, ASW or APCC. Combination of related work history, training, college classes, life experience or volunteer work necessary to perform essential functions of the position as outlined above.
