Discussion and Possible Action: CalPERS AB1912 Liability
Discovery by Executive Director that the JPA is subject to AB1912 and subsequent notification from CalPERS that there was a historical oversite by the Fiscal Agent in 1992 to reclassify the JPA with CalPERS as an entity subject to Labor Code instead of ED. Code.
Update on Progress with CalPERS from the fiscal agent
Consideration of challenging CalPERS' current stance on how MCYP employees should be classified.

Consideration of Member Agency Resignations and Membership Verification
The Board will formally consider the withdrawal notices and extension of withdrawal notices submitted. An inquiry from Manchester Unified was brought forward relating to historical documentation of membership. The records the JPA has on file for the restated Joint Powers Agreement indicates that membership was officially authorized through their boards and are archived in their official records. Membership was not the result of a resolution of the JPA. Request for any historical knowledge from the JPA members is requested.
Public Comment:
Recommended Action:
