Crisis Intervention and Short-Term Counseling
(Inland Mendocino County and North Coast)
Project SHARE is a special program serving as a county wide entry point for youth in crisis.
The focus of the program is to provide a timely means of intervention for youth and their
families to minimize crisis and maintain family structure whenever possible.
Services are provided to youth ages 11 to 18 and are voluntary, free and confidential.
These services include:
- Crisis intervention in partnership with Mendocino County's 24-hour Crisis Line
- Short-term counseling to reduce an immediate crisis situation
- Emergency short-term housing
- Mediation between youth and other youth, family, school or community.
- Support groups
- Information and referrals
- Advocacy
- AOD prevention and early intervention on issues including alcohol and drug use,
violence, reproductive health, child abuse, and relationship violence
- Support groups on issues such as:
- Self-harm
- Grief and loss
- Teen alert: anger management, violence prevention, and other teen issues
- Positive Youth Development (PYD) activities such as:
- Challenge days
- Monologue Theater
- Outdoor education
- Peer helping
- Community involvement
